With the mighty London Super Comic Convention only a couple of weeks away the ACP gang look ahead to what they're looking forward to seeing. To give everyone a unique perspective of the show floor, we're joined by Gareth A. Hopkins (The Intercorstal) who has been a volunteer at the show for the past four years! Theres a run through of creators and panels at the show, some interesting con insight and also some talk about Gareths fantastic new book 'Found Forest Floor'. All that, and theres still plenty of comic talk, some great book recommendations and also a bit of a convention catch up from Tonys time at this years Safari festival and Vinces day at Frome Comic Con.

Over the past few months there has been more than a few European graphic novels that have appeared in the recommendation part of the Awesome Pod. Theres a reason for this - they are amazing. With that in mind, the gang decided to get together to talk about the epic world of undiscovered gems from Europe and are joined by longtime Cinebook translator Jerome Saincantin. Theres talk of the work that goes into translating some of the epic books for english speaking audiences, the way comics and books are viewed in Europe and as the film is just around the corner there is plenty of Valerian talk! Its a great look into a world of comics that some readers may not be aware of, but should truly check out. This week the gang are joined by returning guest Andy W.Clift (Bertie Bear, Sgt Steel) to talk about a subject that doesnt get discussed as much as it should - disability in comic books. Together, they talk about the roles that disability plays in comics, characters who have been done well/not so well and highlight some independent examples of disabled characters. Its a thought provoking and positive discussion about what can be done in the future with the subject and the opportunities there are for better representation across the board. Theres also brilliant independent books that get recommended, Dan reveals who he was a body double for, the truth behind 'the Green Room' is revealed and theres plenty of ACP giggles to be had!

This week the gang are joined by Iz McCaullife, the organiser of this years Cardiff Independent Comic Expo taking place on July 8th.
