Marc Laming, our 'celebrity friend' and one of the superstar artists working on the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens adaption, pops on to talk about what its like working with such a huge franchise, drawing Harrison Ford, how the creative teams work to make a comic adaption a visually different experience and more. Theres also talk of Marc's experience working on Planet of the Apes, finding comics in your newsagent when you were young, the joy of European comics and SO much more. We made it episode 50, so this week Vince, Dan and Tony talk about a subject that been creating a bit of a buzz in the small press community recently - the current role of comic conventions. Theres discussion about some great shows that focus on comics, and other not-so-comic-centric shows that are courting controversy amongst creators. Theres plenty of rambling to be had as the conversation goes in all directions, as well as some amazing books talked about, exciting news about Vanguard and a chat with its creator and so much more! Also Dan uses the word 'Robust' to great effect, Vince goes a little bit Last of the Summer Wine and Tony fights with wind once again.

Kirk Campbell, one of the minds behind the brilliant anthology 'Dirty Rotten Comics' joins the ACP gang to talk about the series, how it came to be, the amazing creators that have contributed and so much more. It's a great chat about a series you must check out. Writer Luke Halsall takes a moment out of being a new dad to join the Awesome Pod this week to talk about his work in the Avery Hill anthology 'Reads', Out of Time, his love of comic book history and some of his crazy original stories. And as Dan 'Guns McVanguard' Butcher couldn't make it this week, one of the heads of Avery Hill Publishing Ricky Miller jumps in to make up the numbers, and talks about their vast amount of upcoming books, the creators they've had a chance to work with and the work that goes into making an anthology. Kate Ashwin, creator of the popular webcomic Widdershins joins the ACP gang this week to talk about her brilliant book series. They talk about how the strip came to be, her path to becoming a full time webcomic creator, her influences and so much more. Being a webcomic veteran, she is also a fountain of knowledge in the genre and theres loads of useful information for budding creators out there. Not only that, but theres talk of 'graphic novels', late night Bingo moderators, Old school egg based computer games and TV shows and so much more! Also Kate googles everything that we talk about, Vince drops a couple of bad jokes and rightfully gets shot down, Dan describes a WalMart experience and Tony suggests using DNA as a competition prize.
